HOW TO USE IT

Start with your details

  1. Set your start date

Choose the first day of the plan. It can be any valid calendar date.

  2. Choose four to twelve weeks

The first four weeks introduce name and sit, come, settle and walking nicely. Longer plans revisit those skills.

  3. Follow the weekly list

See every week in date order. Keep sessions short and reward-based; repeat a skill if your puppy needs more time.

  4. Keep the plan

Save on this device, print all weeks or download one calendar event for each week's start date.

HOW IT WORKS

What shapes your result

Week 1 starts on the selected date. Each week lasts seven calendar days, including its first and last day. The plan ends at the close of the final selected week.

This weekly order is a PupCalendar planning layout, not a timetable prescribed by RSPCA or AVSAB. Repeat a skill or slow down when your puppy needs more time. Use short, reward-based sessions in a quiet setting before adding distractions.

RSPCA supports short, regular, reward-based practice and the skills in this plan. AVSAB supports reward-based methods for common training skills. Neither source gives this exact weekly sequence, and the dates are planning prompts rather than training deadlines.

Saved settings stay in this browser. The calendar download places an all-day focus event on the start of each week; it does not set a training appointment or reminder time.

FAQ

Common questions

Short answers to what people ask most.

Is this an official eight-week training course?

No. RSPCA and AVSAB support reward-based training, but neither prescribes this calendar order. PupCalendar groups the listed skills by week to make a simple plan you can adapt.

What if your puppy has not learned a skill by the next week?

Repeat the skill and slow down. RSPCA notes that dogs learn at different rates. The dates are suggested focus weeks, not deadlines.

How long should a practice session be?

Keep sessions short and regular so your puppy is not overwhelmed. RSPCA does not set one duration for every puppy; stop while the experience is still positive.

Should training use punishment?

AVSAB recommends reward-based methods for common skills and advises against methods that cause pain or distress. Reward the behaviour you want to see again.

Does the calendar book training appointments?

No. It adds an all-day focus event on the first day of each week. The event notes show that week's full date range and skill.

  1. Supports reward-based teaching, sit, short regular sessions, starting with few distractions and letting dogs learn at different rates. It does not assign skills to calendar weeks.
