Puppy worming schedule: how often and until when
Puppy worming is not one universal dated sequence. The tool selects country-based guidance, needs weaning information for its UK plan and keeps flea reminders separate. Early reminders do not mean prevention should stop at six months or replace the chosen treatment label.

Why do the country examples differ?
The US view uses CAPC early checkpoints; Canada uses the Canadian Parasitology Expert Panel model. The Australian view is explicitly an APVMA label example, not a protocol for every treatment. The UK view uses ESCCAP weaning-related timing.
Tell your vet which treatment has already been used and follow the appropriate label. A calendar should not add stand-alone doses on top of an existing prevention programme without confirmation.

What does the UK weaning date change?
The UK schedule follows fortnightly early treatment through two weeks after the recorded end of weaning, then shows calendar-month reminders to the early-life limit. Enter the actual date when known.
If the puppy is still weaning, the tool distinguishes an explicitly estimated illustration for a young puppy from a confirmed course. An older puppy still weaning needs an individual plan; do not invent a finish date to unlock reminders.
When do monthly and later plans need review?
The US and Canadian examples move from their early checkpoints to monthly reminders. These are calendar-month anniversaries, not automatically twenty-eight-day gaps. The Australian label example differs.
Later parasite care depends on the individual and local risks. Ending the displayed early-life plan at six calendar months is not an instruction to stop prevention. Optional flea dates use the start age and interval you enter from the label.

What dates should the fixed example produce?
Use birth 3 August 2026 and flea reminders off. For the UK case, the recorded weaning finish is 28 September 2026. The country-specific examples below show why a worldwide article must not silently reuse the US sequence for every reader.

The Canadian Parasitology Expert Panel early-life model still needs individual confirmation.

Common questions
More answers on this topic.
Is every country given the same early dates?
No. The tool labels its country model and the Australian label-specific example.
Are monthly reminders always four weeks apart?
No. They follow calendar months, with date clamping where needed.
Does the six-month view mean prevention stops?
No. Ongoing prevention needs an individual plan.
Can I guess when weaning ended?
Use the actual date when known. Estimated illustrations must remain clearly identified as such.

Kittens start at two weeks and repeat every two weeks until regular broad-spectrum parasite control begins. Year-round ongoing control is recommended. The separate fallback when year-round control cannot be maintained includes monthly treatment through six months; this is not a fixed universal timetable.
The kitten answer starts at three weeks and follows fortnightly treatment until two weeks after weaning, then monthly care to six months. The current full guideline qualifies monthly care by infection risk; discuss an individual plan with your vet.
Dog roundworm and hookworm label example: 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks, then every three months. APVMA says labels are decided case by case.
Protocol gives 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks, then monthly to six months; later care is based on individual risk.
